Michal
Waligora
Born in 2008 in Cambridge, Michal grew up in Luxembourg. At the age of 9, he joins the Luxembourgish National Conservatory (Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg), which soon becomes his second home. Michal develops his piano skills in Cathy Krier’s class, accumulating a record of achievements. At the Conservatory, he also follows collaborative piano courses with Katrin Reifenrath, jazz piano with Michel Reis, and chamber music with Stéphane Giampellegrini.
In 2024, following an excellent result at the final piano exam, Michal performs with the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Swann van Rechem. The following year, Luxembourg can see him perform alongside other professional musicians at the Catch Music Festival 2025. As an outstanding student of the Conservatory, Michal participates in a prestigious "Young Talents on Tour" student exchange between the Luxembourg National Conservatory, the German Lübeck Academy of Music, and the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts in the fall of 2025.
Michal's musical talents extend far beyond the Conservatory walls. Since 2022, Michal has been actively involved in annual musical productions at the International School of Luxembourg (ISL). In 2024, Michal's leadership skills shone in the Chicago musical, showcasing his expertise as both a conductor and pianist. With great success, he balanced his dual responsibilities, drawing on the skills he honed at the Conservatory and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Hi there!
Do you like games, operating systems, language compilers, or anything in between? If so, you've come to the right place. Since my career debut in 8th grade, I have explored game engines, low level programming with C++ and assembly, and most recently web and GUI programming with Rust.
I'm not put off by error messages, as long as they change every once in a while. Over the last two summers, I got to intern at SAP, fixing bugs in real, huge codebases and loving every second of it.
In my free time, I try to contribute to OSS, through my own new projects and improving existing ones. Right now, I'm working on Powerscan, a (hopefully) better alternative to GNOME Simple Scan for more complex applications. Clearly, the name needs some work. To my defense, there are only two hard things in Computer Science: cache invalidation and naming things.
Feel free to check out my work on GitHub!

GAMES
There is only one thing better than building a game: building a game with a friend.
I created these games with my friend, Liam Cho.

PROJECTS
Neurodiversity blog
Luxneurodiversity is a parent-led initiative for neurodiverse children and students. The parents’ activities required a revamped online presence. It was outdated and no longer met their organizational needs. In collaboration with Liam Cho and the organization’s president, I helped transition their website to a new style, taking on the role of Webmaster. The new website is intentionally designed to be user-friendly and robust.
Check it out at https://luxneurodiversity.wordpress.com/.
Students’ Club Manager
The International School of Luxembourg has a thriving community of students with diverse interests. However, with numerous student-led activities and clubs, it's challenging for students and teachers to stay informed. To address this, I’m developing the Student Club Manager, a centralized platform that allows users to browse clubs, check meeting times, and apply for membership online. The platform also streamlines announcements, such as cancellations, and is exclusively accessible to ISL staff and students, providing a secure and targeted community resource.

Dive into a world of code, ideas, and random thoughts. I write about what sparks my curiosity, bugs me, or gets me excited – from a few lines of code to the bigger picture. It won’t be boring.
